Tips for the Fall – Yoga Illumined Ayurveda

Suddenly, it’s the Fall season.  The air is drier, cooler and jackets and sweaters come out of storage.  How can you feel better as you transition from hot Summer to dry Fall?  Kerry Meath-Sinkin and I discuss a few tips for feeling better and keeping yourself nourished in the Fall:


Here’s what we discuss:

1) Eat locally grown vegetables like squash, pumpkin, apples
2) Add spices to warm the system like ginger, cumin, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, saffron, cayenne, black pepper
3) Abhyanga – warm oil massage – morning and night
4) Deep breathing – Pranayamas like alternate nostril breathing, deep belly breaths
5) Sleep – get more, deep restful, grounding sleep
